Students may access counselors throughout the school year as academic concerns arise, including making mastery, passing / failing courses, scheduling issues, course selection, etc. Parents / guardians are encouraged to meet with school counselors at any time to discuss their student’s academic progress.

VLACS (Virtual Learning Academy Charter School) - Provides free online middle and high school courses to New Hampshire residents. 

Alternative Credit / Class Permission Form - The Founders Academy recognizes the desire and necessity for alternative credit options. If your student is considering a VLACS class, home school course, outside course or other alternative credit, please complete the Alternative Credit/Class Permission Form


NH State Scholars - National and state-wide initiative, offering high school students a challenging high school curriculum outline with scholarship opportunities. The Founders Academy participates in the NH State Scholars program.

NH Department of Education - Statewide resource for education related information.

Testing / Tutoring Information
PSAT / NMSQT - Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test is a standardized test which is also used for qualification for the National Merit Scholarship Program. 

SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) - A standardized test used for college admissions and readiness.

ACT (American College Test) - A standardized test used for college admissions and readiness.

AP (Advanced Placement) - A college level curricula and set of tests which offers possible college credit for courses once completed.

CLEP (College Level Examination Program) - A group of subject tests, intended to provide students with college credits prior to college admission.

KHAN Academy - Online educational tool to assist students. Offers free SAT prep.

Extended Learning Opportunities
The Manchester Public Library has summer volunteer opportunities available for youth ages 14 and up to help with the children's summer reading program from June-August. Please contact Alex Graves, Teen Librarian Manchester City Library for more information.

BAE Systems STEM Scholarship 
- "Awarded to 10 high school students to attend the UNH Tech Leaders summer program where they will participate in an engineering project and learn leadership & entrepreneurship activities."

Dartmouth College Health Careers Institute
- "The Health Careers Institute at Dartmouth provides incoming 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students with opportunities to explore health careers and, of course, have fun!"

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center High School Internship Program - "Summer work experience in the health care community, learning the fundamental skills of healthcare to help explore career path opportunities."

Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth - "CTY's gifted and talented summer programs offer bright students the opportunity to engage in challenging academic work in the company of peers who share their exceptional abilities and love of learning. While the focus is on rigorous academics and learning, the social experience that results from bringing these students together is an integral part of the program."

NH Police Cadet Academy Training - Week long summer academy program for 14-20 year olds interested in a career in the police field. 

NH Teen Institute - "Life-changing, experiential camps and workshops empowering a new generation of school and community leaders across New Hampshire and New England."

Phillips Academy Exeter Summer Programs - 5 week summer study & athletic program. 

Plymouth State University Mindflight Program - "Mindflight is a six day, 5 night residential program for students coming out of 6th 7th and 8th grades offering five different programs for the summer. The program topics are Forensics, Seeing the Unseen, Video Ventures, Acting and Theater, and Computer Programming."


St. Paul's School Advanced Studies Program - "The Advanced Studies Program was founded in 1957 by St. Paul's School to provide talented New Hampshire public and parochial high school students with challenging educational opportunities otherwise unavailable to them."

UNH CATS Program - "The CATS Program is open to motivated and academically strong high school seniors and juniors who want to enrich their academic experience with an introductory college level course."

UNH High Tech Bound Program - "HighTech Bound is a paid six-week summer internship program for high school students entering their senior year. The program provides an exciting opportunity for ambitious students, like you, to experience network technologies in a real world environment."

UNH Hospitality Management Summer Program - "One-week summer program for high school students interested in a career in lodging and resort management, food and beverage management and event management."

UNH Project Smart Summer Institute - "A Summer Institute at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) that challenges, educates, and motivates talented high school students in science and mathematics while acquainting them with the environment and resources of the University as a place for higher education and research."

UNH Summer Youth Programs - "Summer programs in academic enrichment, arts, athletics and STEM. Includes recreational day camp and water activities (swim lessons, sailing & kayaking)."
