NOAA Teacher at SeaScience teacher Kimberly Scantlebury has been accepted to the prestigious NOAA Teacher at Sea Program.

The program provide teachers hands-on, real-world research experience working at sea with world-renowned NOAA scientists, thereby giving them unique insight into oceanic and atmospheric research crucial to the nation.

She is spending two weeks in May aboard the research vessel Pisces as a science crew member with the SEAMAP Reef Fish Survey while also creating educational material for the United States. This is also a fantastic opportunity for Founders Academy to gain National exposure.

Ms. Scantlebury will participate in this professional development from May 1-12, 2017. In her place, Ms. Ames is covering her classes.
