A big thank you to Mr. Hammer, who spoke to my Algebra 2 class about how trigonometry is used in his job as a surveyor. Students learned about the type of work surveyors do and were able to try some of the tools used for measuring distance and angles.  They worked on a real world problem to determine if a cell tower was within code for the approach path of the Manchester Airport.  It was a lot of fun and a great learning experience! I welcome other parents who use math frequently in their professions to come share their experience with my students.
