Founders Academy Prepares to Celebrate John Stark Day Presented by National Roofing & Solar Corporation
General John Stark is New Hampshire's best-known Revolutionary War soldier and in 2017, a group of students at The Founders Academy Public Charter School in Manchester, NH, lobbied to have John Stark Day changed so that it was celebrated during the school year instead of during April vacation. On April 13, 2017, Governor Chris Sununu signed Founders Academy student-led bill HB91 into law at the school. Since that day, because of the leadership skills of the students at The Founders Academy, John Stark Day is recognized on the second Monday in April in the state of New Hampshire.
The Founders Academy Public Charter School will be celebrating General John Stark Day with a city-wide scavenger hunt from April 12th through the 15th.
Participants in the scavenger hunt will visit historical locations in and around the city of Manchester. Along the way, participants learn facts about General John Stark as well as a clue to their next location. This celebration of our “Hero of Bennington” is generously sponsored by local businesses including Daughters of the American Revolution, Denisco Roofing & Construction, NH German School, NorthPoint Construction Management, and S&H Land Services.

The Founders Academy is a public charter school for students in grades 5 through 12 that is free and open to all New Hampshire students.
